When Jimmy Kimmel won the Critics Choice Award Sunday, he gave a shoutout to one special person — President “Donald Jennifer Trump.”
Kimmel walked away with the award for best talk show host for his show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” USA Today reported.
Kimmel, 58, thanked the president for the win — but changed the name.
“I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom we’d be going home empty-handed tonight,” Kimmel said. “So thank you, Mr. President, for all the many ridiculous things you do each and every day.”
Watch:
There has been a feud between Kimmel and Trump as the two exchange barbs.
Kimmel was suspended by Disney, ABC’s parent company, in September after a comment he made about the fatal shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
The suspension apparently did not harm Kimmel as he returned six days later to higher ratings.
The show returns Monday after a holiday break.
“It’s been a banner couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to get back on the air tomorrow night to talk about them,” Kimmel said.
The comic also made a jab at Trump by lamenting his award wasn’t the “FIFA World Peace Prize” Trump received.
Kimmel also talked about the importance of free speech.
“Thanks to all the writers and actors and producers and union members, many of you who are in this room, who supported us, who really stepped forward with us and reminded us that we do not take free speech for granted in this city or in this country,” Kimmel said. “Your actions were important, and we appreciate them.”
