The NFL’s Detroit Lions has announced that former linebacker Jessie Lemonier has died.
The team made the announcement on Twitter, saying, “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier.”
It continues, “Jessie was a model teammate and wonderful young man who is gone far too soon.”
Concluding the statement, the team said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Lemonier was 25 years old.

His agent, Drew Smith of DEC Management, said to ESPN Lemonier and his girlfriend were expecting a child.
The outlet noted Lemonier played in seven games with the Lions in 2021.
He recorded 15 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Last summer, he went on to sign with the Arizona Cardinals and was released during the training camp.
