“The View” co-host Meghan McCain made a surprising announcement on Twitter regarding both her personal and professional life.
McCain announced that she is pregnant and will begin self-isolating due to the spread of the coronavirus.
“I consulted with my doctors and they advised me that for the safety of our baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the amount of people we come in contact with,” McCain shared in a statement on Twitter, adding, “Starting immediately, I’ll be joining the millions of Americans who are self-isolating as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

She continues to announce that she will be co-hosting “The View” from home. She expressed her appreciation for being able to work remotely.
“I’m fortunate that my employer, ABC, has allowed me and my co-hosts to work remotely,” She writes, continuing, “I am indebted to our producers and crew.”
McCain also acknowledged other “heroes” for continuing to work through this crisis.
She closed her statement by calling on Americans to take action.
“Please stay safe. Wash your hands and avoid public gatherings and I will continue to see you each morning on ‘The View,'” McCain writes.
McCain is not the only co-host of “The View” who has taken measures to protect herself from the virus.
Joy Behar announced she was taking time away from the show, noting the risk she faces as a woman of her age group, as IJR previously reported.
Shortly thereafter, co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced she was taking precautions of her own, as IJR previously reported. Goldberg also explained that she would be practicing social distancing and co-hosting the show from her home.
