Daryl Sabara, husband of singer Meghan Trainor, opened up about the joys of fatherhood and growing up without his own father.
In an exclusive interview with People, Sabara, 31, called becoming a father to son Riley, 2, “pretty amazing.” His dad left when he was very young.
“My dad left my family when I was 1. So becoming a dad has kind of given me this existential experience of getting become the dad that I always wanted,” the “Spy Kids” actor explained.
Sabara added he has “no complaints so far” about fatherhood.
“Even all the poopy diapers and Riley’s such a happy guy that all of it is pretty awesome. And he is my best friend, so I’m excited for a new best friend in a couple of weeks,” he continued.
In January, Trainor announced exclusively to People she was pregnant with the couple’s second child.
“What a blessing. I’m just so grateful I can get pregnant,” she expressed.
She continued, “And I’m like, ‘I’m crushing it. This is amazing.'”
Sahara revealed what his plans are for Father’s Day on June 18.
“I’m still pretty new to the Father’s Day game, so I would just say an ideal day is having the whole family around and they’re pretty much around every day anyway,” he said.
Additionally, Trainor promoted her first book, “Dear Future Mama,” released on April 25.
It is described as “a heartfelt and humorous guide” for women who are expecting.
“I’m an open book, and I love telling everybody everything about my grossness and all my truths,” Trainor shared. “When someone goes, ‘Oh my God, me too,’ then it makes me feel like I’m not alone, and I’m like, ‘I’m not weird, my body’s not different. It’s normal.’”
