Former First Lady Melania Trump is reportedly not interested in making her way back to the White House for a second time.
One individual who was close with the former first lady during her time in the White House told CNN, “Being first lady again is not what she wants.”
They added, “For her, it was a chapter – and it’s over, and that’s that.”
Another individual familiar with Melania Trump’s lack of interest in supporting her husband for another White House run said, “You’re not going to see her at rallies or campaign events, even if he ‘officially’ says he’s running again.”
They continued, “Instead it’s going to be Lara (Trump, the wife of Trump’s son, Eric) or (Kimberly) Guilfoyle (the girlfriend of Trump’s eldest son, Don). They have that same urge Trump has to (run) again; Melania absolutely does not.”
According to someone who has known Melania Trump socially for more than 10 years, the more she “can be private and not in the public eye, the better.”
They went on, “And there’s nothing wrong with that. I mean, if every single person in the world watched your every move for four or five years, and that wasn’t comfortable for you – just imagine how triggering that must have been.”
During an interview with Lisa Boothe on her podcast “The Truth with Lisa Booth” last month, former President Donald Trump opened up about a possible 2024 run.
“We won it twice. I’ve won it twice and now I have to win it again. I guess if we’re going to save the country, look … I’ll make a decision,” Trump said.
He continued, “It won’t be maybe for a little while. You know, a lot of people would like to see a decision immediately, but perhaps there’s also a big group, including maybe myself, that would like to see it after the midterms.”
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) told a group of Republicans in Iowa he believes Trump is going to run, adding, “I want him to run. He’s proven he can take the heat. We’re at a moment now where you’ve got to have someone who’s willing to fight, willing to stand up to all the abuses.”
