Former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief of staff, Miles Taylor, is responding to President Donald Trump after he claimed he did not know who he was.

“That’s too bad. I remember you, all too well. And I will continue shining a light on your failed presidency through the election—and beyond,” Taylor wrote on Twitter.

Taylor revealed himself as the anonymous author of a 2018 op-ed in The New York Times and a book critical of the Trump administration, as IJR previously reported.

In a blog post titled “Why I’m no longer ‘Anonymous‘” on Wednesday, Taylor explained why he decided to write the op-ed and book anonymously.

“Issuing my critiques without attribution forced the President to answer them directly on their merits or not at all, rather than creating distractions through petty insults and name-calling,” Taylor said.

He mentioned he previously said he would speak out against Trump as himself, “That is why I’ve already been vocal throughout the general election.”

Following Taylor’s post, Trump took to Twitter to respond to his revelation.

“Who is Miles Taylor? Said he was ‘anonymous’, but I don’t know him – never even heard of him. Just another [New York Times] SCAM – he worked in conjunction with them,” Trump wrote.

He continued, “Now works for Fake News [CNN]. They should fire, shame, and punish everybody associated with this FRAUD on the American people!”

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany issued her own statement, as IJR previously reported.

“This low-level, disgruntled former staffer is a liar and a coward who chose anonymity over action and leaking over leading,” McEnany said.

She went on, “He was ineffective and incompetent during his time as DHS Chief of Staff.”

McEnany shared an interview Taylor gave CNN’s Anderson Cooper where he said he was not “anonymous.”

She tweeted, “PROOF: Miles Taylor, who now admits to being ‘Anonymous,’ once told us he was NOT Anonymous. He LIED! This is everything people hate about Washington — two-faced liars who push their own agendas at the expense of the People. This is the epitome of the swamp!”
