A camera captured the moment before an alligator came out of a pond, attacking and killing an 85-year-old woman.
Inside Edition released the video, explaining the incident happened at a retirement community in Florida as the woman, identified as Gloria Serge, was walking her dog beside a pond.
The alligator can be seen coming out of the water and charging toward Serge.
The video also features the 911 call from a woman reporting the attack.
“Oh my God! The alligator’s got her!” the woman said.
When asked how big the alligator is, the woman replied, “It’s huge gator! It’s huge! I don’t have anything to get to her!”
The outlet noted the call was made by 76-year-old Carol Thomas.
Thomas later told the 911 operator the alligator dragged Serge into the lake.
“It’s too late! It’s too late! Oh my God!” Thomas said.
Thomas shared how she was trying to stick a pole out for Serge to grab.
Inside Edition reported the alligator was later captured by trappers and euthanized.

According to The New York Times, the dog remained unharmed.
Carol Volpini, a Spanish Lakes resident, said, “It’s devastating,” adding, “She was a wonderful person, and we loved her dearly.”
The Times pointed out that Florida is home to roughly 1.3 million alligators.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a statement, “Ms. Serge was knocked over and the alligator pulled her into the water by her foot.”
It continues, “Serge was pulled into deeper water and died as a result of the incident.”
The commission shared their “thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.”
Additionally, the commission explained they place “the highest priority on public safety and administers a Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program (SNAP) to address complaints concerning specific alligators believed to pose a threat to people, pets or property.”
