An MSNBC anchor was criticized after taking issue with an investigation into President Joe Biden’s family.
On Thursday, MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan tweeted, “Be as mad as you like about House Republicans kicking off day one after winning the House with a massive investigation into the Biden family but also ask yourself why House Democrats didn’t do this for the Trump family. Ask yourself this on the day Pelosi is retiring btw.”

Republican state senator of Oklahoma, Nathan Dahm, fired back, “You could ‘ask yourself why’ or you could do a quick internet search to discover that House Democrats DID this for the Trump family. In 2019, The House Judiciary Committee launched an investigation into “potential Constitutional abuses and public corruption by President Donald Trump, sending a sweeping request for documents from the president’s family, businesses and administration,” as NBC News reported at the time.
House Oversight Committee ranking member James Comer (R-Ky.) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced this week they are turning their attention to the foreign business dealings of Hunter Biden and brother James Biden.
“We will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a president who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence,” Comer said during a press conference Wednesday.
He added, “I want to be clear: This is an investigation of Joe Biden. And that’s where the committee will focus in this next Congress.
Additionally, House Oversight Committee Republicans released an interim staff report on their investigation of the Biden family.
The report comes just after Republicans took back control of the House in the midterm elections.
