Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) made a demand involving Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in response to his wife’s leaked texts.
“Clarence Thomas needs to be impeached,” Omar tweeted.
She quoted a tweet that pointed out Thomas was the only “no” vote in a decision to “allow the release of Trump’s 1/6 documents showing plans to order the military to seize voting machines.”
It also mentions text messages that show his wife urged former President Donald Trump to take “‘unrelenting efforts’ to steal the election.”

Others are pushing for Thomas’ impeachment, including Kathy Griffin.
She tweeted, “Noel, this is the limit! I want Clarence Thomas to get impeached, because you CAN impeach Supreme Court Justice, and then I want Anita Hill to get his position on the Supreme Court.”

Women’s March Executive Director Rachel O’ Leary Carmona also issued a statement calling for his impeachment.
“The revelations that Ginni Thomas advocated for the overthrow of our democracy are disqualifying — not just for her as a human being of any decency, but for her husband Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas,” Carmona said.
She continued, “From the day he was nominated to the Court, Thomas has always acted less like a reasonable jurist and more like his wife — that is to say a professional conservative activist. Now we have undeniable evidence of this fact. He is hopelessly compromised, conflicted, and corrupt, and he must be impeached IMMEDIATELY.”

The Washington Post and CBS News obtained 29 text messages between Virginia Thomas and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
Thomas wrote to Meadows after news organizations projected Biden the winner, “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!…You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”
The Post noted the text messages were among thousands obtained by the House select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
