House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) slammed President Donald Trump during a Wednesday MSNBC interview, saying that Trump has lost any credibility after his response to reports that the Russians were offering bounties on American and British troops in Afghanistan.
On MSNBC, Pelosi said, “The president is intellectually unprepared, personally unqualified and ethically unfit to serve as President of the United States.”
She continued, “He has undermined any credibility he may have had as commander-in-chief, if he could call a possible assault on our troops, our men and women in uniform by Russians a ‘hoax’ without even wanting to read about it, learn more about it and make a really informed judgement about it.”

The Speaker also took a veiled shot at former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who recently published an inside-the-White House tell-all. Pelosi said, “You have a chamber of henchmen over there when it serves their purpose, they support the president; when it serves their profits and a book, then they criticize him.”
On Wednesday, Trump called the reports of the bounties a “made up fake news hoax,” tweeting, “No corroborating evidence to back reports.” Department of Defense. Do people still not understand that this is all a made up Fake News Media Hoax started to slander me & the Republican Party. I was never briefed because any info that they may have had did not rise to that level.”

His Wednesday tweet followed a report from the New York Times that said intelligence officials believed Russian officials offered Taliban-militias bounties to kill American soldiers.
The Times has also reported that information about the bounties was included in the Presidential Daily Briefing in February. But the White House has said that neither Trump or Vice President Mike Pence was briefed on the intelligence.
