White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is being asked a “very popular question” about the highly anticipated stimulus checks Americans will be receiving.

A reporter asked Psaki during her press briefing on Monday if President Joe Biden’s name or signature will appear on the stimulus checks.

“This is a very popular question. I will tell you that our focus right now is on getting this bill across the finish line, getting relief out to the American people, which we expect will happen by the end of the month,” she replied.

Psaki continued, “In terms of what the checks will look like, I just don’t have an update on that for you today.”

The White House press secretary told reporters she expects many Americans will receive the stimulus checks by the end of the month.

The question comes less than a year after the U.S. Department of the Treasury ordered the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to print then-President Donald Trump’s name on stimulus checks, as IJR previously reported.

His name appeared below a statement that said “Economic Impact Payment” in the memo line.

The Senate passed Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief plan in a 50-49 vote, as IJR reported.

“This plan will get checks out the door starting this month to the American people, who so desperately need the help,” Biden said after the vote at the White House.

The final relief package includes $400 billion in one-time payments of $1,400 to Americans.

If the bill passes the House of Representatives on Tuesday as expected, Americans could begin receiving the checks as soon as this week, as IJR reported.

According to the White House, nearly 160 million households are expected to receive payments.
