Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, sources revealed to People.
Combs, 54, has been in jail since his arrest on Sept. 16
He is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, according to the indictment that was unsealed.
Combs pleaded not guilty and has been denied bail twice.
It is not clear if Combs is suicidal. It is also not clear how long he has been on suicide watch.
Suicide watch is “supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation,” per the U.S Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has asked a judge for Combs to be transferred to a prison in Essex County in New Jersey.
Combs is accused of forcing victims to have “freak offs” — or “elaborate and produced sex performances,” prosecutors said. These “freak offs” were sometimes allegedly filmed without the victims’ knowledge.
At a raid in March, federal investigators seized three AR-15 rifles and 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant at Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles.
Another hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sept. 24.
