Former President Donald Trump’s top adviser and speechwriter Stephen Miller is calling President Joe Biden’s address to Congress “lifeless and dry.”
“So far, this speech is written in the ‘laundry list’ style — the least inspired format for a congressional address,” Miller tweeted late Wednesday.
He added, “It is striking just how tedious and unoriginal the rhetoric was in Biden’s speech. Also, no outreach, no bipartisanship, no surprises, no warmth — a lifeless and dry address.”

Miller also accused Biden of ignoring the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border during his speech.
“The US is enduring the worst border crisis in our history. Biden ignored the crisis entirely in his address (other than making a brief push for amnesty). He also declined to explain his decision to halt criminal deportations, expand low-wage visas, or raise the refugee cap,” Miller tweeted.
He claimed it was “because his advisors know that these decisions are immensely unpopular — and they also know that the colossal crisis on our border represents his greatest current political vulnerability.”
Miller continued, “They hope if Biden doesn’t talk about it the Biden-friendly media won’t either.”

Arguing “their only ‘strategy’ on the border is to remove the visuals by speeding aliens’ entry into the interior—giving press a pretext not to cover the world’s largest illegal resettlement program,” Miller said, “Bottom line: the less Biden talks about the border the more the GOP must.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) also found Biden’s address to be boring as he appeared to doze off during it, as IJR reported.
When responding to a video clip of him, Cruz tweeted, “#BoringButRadical.”
During an appearance on Fox News, Cruz reiterated speech was “boring but radical.” He claimed Biden was “deliberately being boring.”
Cruz added, “But the substance of what he’s saying is radical.”
The president touched on the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy, police reform, and more during his address.
