“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin is dismayed at a poll that found white suburban women favoring the Republican Party.

On Thursday, Hostin said, “I read a poll just yesterday that white Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican.”

“It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid,” she added.

Conservative co-host Alyssa Farah-Griffin chimed in as she tried to push back on the comparison.

But Hostin pressed on, “They’re voting against their own self-interest. Do they want to live in Gilead? Do they want to live in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’?”

Finally, Griffin responded, “Do we love democracy or not? Because it’s insulting to the voter. People make up decisions on what’s right for their family.”

Co-host Joy Behar added, “You’re not voting for Republicans. You’re voting for a cult. Remember that. It’s a cult. It’s not Republicans anymore.”

Hostin appeared to be referring to a poll released by The Wall Street Journal, which found white suburban women now say they favor Republicans over Democrats by 15 percentage points — marking a 27 percentage point swing in support from August.

This is not the first time the co-host has expressed exasperation at a certain demographic possibly voting for Republicans.

In September, she told her fellow panelists it is “so interesting to me that there are so many Latinos that vote Republican because they vote against their own self-interest.”

In case you missed it:

Hostin’s comments come as polls have repeatedly found voters say inflation is a top concern for voters.

Perhaps she believes access to abortion is in voters’ self-interest.

But in the end, it’s up to each voter to decide what is best for them. And for anyone to make a blanket statement implying they really know what is in one demographic’s best interests is insulting.
