The cause of death for Ronnie Turner, son of singer Tina Turner, has been revealed.
According to a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office, Ronnie Turner died from “complications of metastatic colon carcinoma,” per Yahoo News.
The report also stated that he had “other significant conditions” such as “atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease,” according to the outlet.
Metastatic colorectal cancer is an advanced type of cancer that starts in the colon or rectum and can spread to the liver, lungs, or brain.
Sources for the Los Angeles law enforcement spoke to TMZ and revealed that they received a call on Thursday morning from someone claiming that Ronnie Turner “was outside their home and having a hard time breathing.”
Minutes later, the person said that Ronnie Turner was no longer breathing.
Bystanders attempted CPR on Ronnie Turner, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ronnie Turner was 62 years old and his manner of death was listed as natural.
On Dec. 13, Tina Turner confirmed the news of her son’s passing on her Instagram account.
“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” she wrote.
Ronnie Turner’s widow, Afida Turner, paid tribute to her late husband on her Instagram page referring to him as “a true angel.”
“MY GOD RONNIE TURNER A TRUE ANGEL HIUGE SOUL HIGH MY HUSBAND MY BEST FRIEND MY BABY I WAS YOUR MUMMY, YOUR NURSE YOUR LITTLE MONSTER I DID THE BEST TO THE END THIS TIME I WAS NO ABLE TO SAVE YOU LOVE U FOR THIS 17 YEARS THIS IS VERY VERY VERY BAD I AM VERY MAD THIS IS A TRAGEDY U WITH YOUR BROTHER CRAIG AND YOUR FATHER IKE TURNER AND ALINE REST IN PARADISE SO UNFAIR,” she wrote.
In another Instagram post, Afida Turner wrote that Ronnie Turner was a “terrific musician and bass player” and an “amazing soul.”
