A top leader from the notorious MS-13 gang was arrested by U.S. authorities, the FBI announced Thursday.
According to Fox News, the 24-year-old was captured by officials in Woodbridge, Virginia. However, authorities are yet to release the suspect’s name, but say he is one of the top three leaders operating in the U.S.
FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly watched the arrest from a tactical operations center. Bondi told Fox News after the arrest that the arrest was “clean.”
“They executed a clean, safe operation and the bad guys in custody. And thanks to the FBI, we got one of the worst of the worst of the MS-13 off the streets this morning. Virginia and the country is a lot safer today,” Bondi told Fox News.
President Donald Trump celebrated the arrest on Truth Social.
“Just captured a major leader of MS13. Tom HOMAN is a superstar!,” Trump said.
“Great job by Pam Bondi, @FBIDirectorKash, Tom HOMAN, and Kristi N, on the capture of MS13 leader – A big deal!,” Trump said.
Fox News further reported that Patel also praised law enforcement involved in the arrest.
“This is what can happen when you put good cops in good places to take on bad guys. And America should be watching this. And we are proud to be here standing with these brave warriors,” Patel said.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt praised Bondi, Homan, and Patel, and said this is what happens when competent leadership is in charge.
“This is what happens when you have competent federal leadership working with state/local law enforcement on the ground! Bravo @AGPamBondi @FBIDirectorKash @GovernorVA @RealTomHoman,”
