President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to announce that a “complete and total ceasefire” between Israel and Iran was imminent.

“Congratulations to everyone! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire,” Trump wrote.

The news followed a dramatic weekend after U.S. forces carried out airstrikes targeting three of Iran’s nuclear sites. In apparent retaliation, Iran fired missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar according to the Associated Press.

According to a Qatari officer, “nineteen missiles” were launched, one of which made an impact but caused no injuries. Trump, however, stated that “14 missiles were fired, 13 were knocked down and one was ‘set free.’”

Iran claimed that its strike mirrored the number of bombs dropped on its own territory and was launched at a location “outside of populated areas,” a gesture that many analysts read as an opening toward de-escalation.

Trump asserted that Tehran had alerted Washington ahead of the strike, thanking Iran’s leadership for the “early notice.”

On June 13, Israel carried out a surprise operation against Iranian nuclear infrastructure, citing an imminent threat.

“It’s a really remarkable achievement,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said. “President Trump deserves all the credit. This is what peace through strength looks like.”

Vice President JD Vance applauded the moment as a historic pivot.

“The war between Israel and Iran — and the U.S. bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities — will be remembered as ‘an important reset moment for the entire region,’” Vance told Fox News.

With the ceasefire set to roll out over the next day, Trump laid out a timeline — by midnight Tuesday EST, Iran is expected to cease all offensive action. Twelve hours later, Israel would halt its own operations. And after another half-day, “the War will be considered, ENDED!”
