President-elect Donald Trump attended a traditional church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., ahead of his inauguration Monday along with Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.
Speaking with Fox News, U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said the events unfolding Monday are historical and Americans can expect quick action.
“He’s gonna do a lot by executive action, but we also want to do our part,” Thune said, adding Trump will be aiming to undo “burdensome” regulations put in by the Biden administration.
Trump, along with first lady Melania Trump, departed the church after the service, to head to the White House to meet with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden.
