President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, will be moved indoors due to a freezing cold polar blast set to hit the U.S. in coming days.
According to a report from ABC News, Trump is expected to be sworn in as the 47th president inside the Capitol Rotunda.
Washington D.C.’s weather is forecast to be one of the coldest inauguration days in 40 years, with snow expected to come in a quick-moving storm on Sunday. Temperatures are set to be around 18 degrees, with wind chill reportedly set to make temperatures “feel like” a frigid 5 to 10 degrees.
Trump posted the change in location on social media, and said “January 20th cannot come fast enough,” but added decision was made to move indoors to first protect those who are wanting to attend his inauguration, and encouraged people to dress warmly if they plan to stand outside.
“There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way,” Trump said, “It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).”
