Former President Donald Trump is not missing an opportunity to take a shot at Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) after he was heckled over the weekend.
In a brief statement on Monday, Trump wrote, “So nice to see RINO Mitt Romney booed off the stage at the Utah Republican State Convention.”
He added, “They are among the earliest to have figured this guy out, a stone cold loser!”

On Saturday, Romney was heckled during a speech at the Utah Republican Party convention, as IJR reported.
“Now you know me as a person as someone who says what he thinks. And I don’t hide the fact that I wasn’t a fan of our last president’s character issues,” he said as delegates at the convention began to boo him.
Attendees reportedly called Romney a “traitor” and a “communist.”
He responded, “Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“I have a few folks who don’t like me terribly much, and I’m sorry about that,” he added.

Romney, who voted to convict Trump in both impeachment trials, had a contentious relationship with the former president.
Despite being acquitted by the Senate in both impeachment trials, Trump has not hesitated to take a jab at the Utah senator when he felt the opportunity presented itself.
After Romney announced in March 2020 that he would quarantine after he had close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, Trump reacted with an apparent hint of sarcasm as he said, “Gee, that’s too bad.”
He also weighed in after Romney received a negative test for the virus, “This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak. He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot!”
