President Donald Trump is weighing in on the highly publicized shooting of Ahmaud Arbery.
During his phone interview with Fox News on Friday, Trump was asked about footage of the shooting.
Back in February, the unarmed 25-year-old was shot and killed while jogging. However, no charges were brought against the men responsible for his death which has caused national-wide outrage.
“I looked at a picture of that young man,” Trump said, adding, “That looks like a really good, young guy, and it’s a very disturbing situation to me. And I just, my heart goes out to the parents, and the family, and the friends.”
Trump went on to express confidence in law enforcement and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s (R) ability to handle the situation objectively.
“We have to take it, you know… law enforcement’s gonna look at it and they have a good governor in the state and he’s going to be looking at it very strongly and he’s going to do what’s right,” the president said.
Fox host Brian Kilmeade noted the history of racially charged shootings and how quickly situations can “spiral out of control.” He asked the president what could he do to ensure “justice is done and this doesn’t end up in a racial situation.”
“Well justice getting done is the thing that solves that problem,” Trump said.

Trump also suggested that there may be more to the story than what the world has seen on camera.
“Again, it’s in the hands of the governor and I’m sure he’ll do the right thing. You know, it could be something that we didn’t see on tape that could be a lot … If you saw, things went off-tape and then back on-tape but … I mean to anybody that watched it, certainly, it was a disturbing or troubling video.”
Trump’s comments follow a public outcry for charges to be brought against those involved in the dispute that led to Arbery’s death.
On Thursday, Gregory and Travis McMichael — a father and son from Brunswick, Georgia — were arrested on charges of murder and aggravated assault.
According to USA Today, the two previously admitted to police they confronted Arbery with firearms because they believed he was a burglary suspect simply because he was running.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) will investigate the shooting.
