Two U.S. service members were killed along the U.S.-Mexico border Tuesday morning in a vehicle crash.
According to the Western Journal, the U.S. Northern Command announced the accident in a post on X on behalf of the Joint Task Force-Southern Border.
Two service members were killed, while the other service member was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
While details of the crash have not been released, the incident took place near Santa Teresa, New Mexico, around 8:50 a.m. local time.
The Western Journal further reported that the names of the service members involved were not released, and firefighters reportedly responded to the crash near the Santa Teresa Border Patrol Station right before 10 a.m.
The Joint Task Force-Southern Border was announced by the U.S. Northern Command as part of President Donald Trump and the Department of Defense’s “efforts to secure and seal the southern border.”
