President Joe Biden was forced to encourage his audience to clap in response to his line about support for Ukraine.
During an event on the White House, Biden spoke about the United States’ relationship with Ireland as he said, “Ireland is now one of the top ten investors in the United States economy.”
“And our countries stand proudly for liberty and against tyranny,” he continued. “We stand together and oppose Russia’s brutal war of aggression in Ukraine.”
When the line was met with silence, Biden said, “You can clap for that, please.”
The audience was heard clapping.

Biden’s comments come as the Biden administration revealed it will be sending another $300 million aid package to Ukraine as an aid bill is stalled in Congress.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has so far refused to hold a vote on a bill that would provide another $60 billion in aid.
