The White House called Jim Acosta “a disgraceful human being” after the ex-CNN correspondent made a joke about President Donald Trump’s deceased former wife.
Acosta was on a “No Kings” Day episode of “The Contrarian” podcast with Jennifer Rubin when he called Trump a hypocrite for his stance on immigrants when two of his three wives were immigrants, Fox News reported.
“Where are the ICE raids at the Trump properties? Could somebody call ICE on the Trump golf course in Virginia? You’re telling me there’s nobody in there that is undocumented or has some kind of squirreliness going on with their paperwork?” he asked. “Give me a break.”
“How many immigrants has he married? He’s got one buried at his golf course in New Jersey! Isn’t she buried by the first hole or the second tee or something like that?” he asked, as Rubin and reporter April Ryan laughed.
Acosta was talking about Trump’s first wife, Ivana, a native of Czechia, who is buried at Tump National Golf Club Bedminster in Bedminster, New Jersey. She died in 2022.
“Immigrants always doing the jobs that Americans don’t want to do!” Acosta said.
Watch:
Ivana Trump is the mother of Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.
The White House responded by calling Acosta disgraceful.
“Jim Acosta is a disgraceful human being,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital.
Immigration has been a hot topic recently with raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles, California.
