Augustus Ledyard Smith III foi um arqueólogo americano que trabalhou em vários projetos na região maia em nome da Carnegie Institution, incluindo Uaxactun. De 1958 a 1963 ele liderou investigações em Altar de Sacrificios na Guatemala junto com Gordon Willey em nome do Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
