Chile, oficialmente la República de Chile, es un país en el Cono Sur del suroeste de América del Sur. Es el país más austral del mundo y el más cercano a la Antártida, extendiéndose a lo largo de una estrecha franja de tierra entre la cordillera de los Andes y el océano Pacífico. Según el censo de 2024, Chile tenía una población enumerada de 18,5 millones. El país cubre un área territorial de 756.102 kilómetros cuadrados (291.933 sq mi), compartiendo fronteras con Perú al norte, Bolivia al noreste, Argentina al este y el paso de Drake al sur. También administra varias islas del Pacífico, incluidas Juan Fernández, Isla Salas y Gómez, Desventuradas e Isla de Pascua, y reclama alrededor de 1.250.000 kilómetros cuadrados (480.000 sq mi) de la Antártida como el Territorio Antártico Chileno. La capital y la ciudad más grande es Santiago, y el idioma oficial y nacional es el español.
