Robert Arthur Peel foi um historiador e escritor sobre tópicos religiosos e ecumênicos, especialmente The First Church of Christ, Scientist e Christian Science. Como Cientista Cristão por mais de 70 anos, Peel escreveu editoriais para o Christian Science Monitor, uma publicação de propriedade da Church of Christ, Scientist. Ele também foi conselheiro do Comitê de Publicação da igreja. Peel é mais conhecido por sua biografia em três volumes, Mary Baker Eddy: The Years of Discovery (1966), Mary Baker Eddy: The Years of Trial (1971) e Mary Baker Eddy: The Years of Authority (1977).
