President Donald Trump insists Kanye West may still support him despite the rapper announcing his own presidential run.

Trump appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” Thursday evening where he was asked about West’s presidential aspirations.

Although the president has a history of publicly criticizing anyone who defies him, he did not criticize West. In fact, Trump alluded to a level of loyalty the billionaire rapper and his wife, reality star Kim Kardashian would always have for the Trump administration.

“Well, I like his voice being heard but he’s always going to be for us … and his wife is going to be for us,” Trump said.

Trump went on to speak highly of West, as he described the rapper as someone he gets along with “very well.” Despite West’s presidential run, Trump suggested that the ultimate goal is to “stop the radical left.”

“[He’s a] very good guy. He is a person that I get along with very well,” Trump said. “At the end, I think he would support us over anyone else. Whether he does or not, we have to stop the radical left from taking over our country.”

Trump’s latest remarks about West come just days after the rapper’s Twitter announcement and his Forbes interview where he explained his political views and aspirations.

As previously reported on IJR, the Grammy Award-winning rapper declared that he was “taking off the red hat,” which suggested he no longer supports Trump.

“I am taking the red hat off, with this interview,” West said.

Although West has yet to file official paperwork to run for president, he insists he is serious about his pursuit of the White House.

He also admitted that he is aware that his presence could draw votes from the Democratic Party which would increase the likelihood of Trump’s re-election.

The U.S. presidential election is set to take place on November 3, 2020.
