A fly went viral on social media when it landed on Vice President Mike Pence’s head during the recent vice-presidential debate and Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris has just revealed she saw it during their face off.
The fly sat there on Pence’s head, going unnoticed by the vice president during the Oct. 7 debate. It sparked a lot of reaction on social media, even some creating Twitter profiles for the fly who got “a great seat at the debate,” as one profile read.
When asked by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow during Wednesday night’s interview if she saw the fly on Pence’s head during the debate, Harris laughed, “Oh, Rachel.”
Harris proceeded to nod her head “yes” while attempting to hold back laughter.
Asked if she had an “instinct” to swat the fly away, Harris continued to hold back laughter before saying, “I think that it’s important that we kind of find a way for all of us to move on and, you know, kind of fly away from this subject onto something else. Yeah.”

Pence spoke out about the moment, saying he learned from his children about the fly.
“They’re the ones that told me,” Pence said during a Fox News interview. “I didn’t know he was there.”
He added, “They all told me, ‘Dad, you did OK.’ But they did tell me about the fly. And it was a good laugh for all of us.”
