Former Democratic Georgia gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams is confident President-elect Joe Biden (D) will still have won Georgia even after the state recounts votes.

“The View’s” Joy Behar noted Biden leads President Donald Trump in Georgia by just over 14,000 votes.

Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) announced the state will recount the ballots by hand.

Behar asked Abrams if she is confident Biden will keep his lead even after the recount.

“We are absolutely certain that this lead is insurmountable. It is absolute and Joe Biden won Georgia. The reality is they have the right to follow the law and the law permits this type of behavior,” Abrams said.

She added, “Sadly, they just want to do a recount of what we already accomplished and I wish them well but we know that Joe Biden is going to be, not only the president of the United States, but the first president in 30 years from the Democratic Party to carry Georgia.”

Raffensperger announced on Wednesday the state’s plans to recount millions of ballots by hand.

“With a margin being so close, it will require a full by-hand recount in each county. This will help build confidence. It will be an audit, a recount, and a recanvass all at once. It will be a heavy lift,” Raffensperger said during a press conference on Wednesday.

During an appearance on CNN’s “New Day” Monday, Georgia’s Lieutenant Gov. Geoff Duncan (R) denied allegations of voter fraud, as IJR previously reported.

“We’ve not had any sort of credible incidents raised to our level yet. And so we’ll continue to make sure that the opportunity to make sure every legal ballot is counted is there. But, you know, at this point, we’ve not seen any sort of credible examples,” Duncan said.
