The anti-Trump group, The Lincoln Project, is being recognized for the “fearlessness” of its political ads that were critical of the president in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

Ad Age released a list of top-performing marketers. It said the list was based on “business results driven by breakthrough advertising and smart strategic thinking.”

The anti-Trump group was recognized for its “go-for-broke attitude” that “shows that fearlessness is a key ingredient for great creative.”

In a statement, co-founder Rick Wilson said, “To be included on a list with major brands that are household names is humbling to say the least.”

“This was completely unexpected, and we are delighted and honored to be included,” he added.

Reed Galen, another co-founder, also said, “It is surreal and validating to learn that our team’s hard work has been recognized by such a prestigious entity in the advertising industry.”

The group was given the fourth top spot on the list, below TikTok, McDonald’s, and Lowe’s.

The Lincoln Project, founded roughly a year ago, raised millions of dollars over the past year and produced ads critical of Trump and his Republican allies in Congress.

The group’s website says it is “holding accountable those who would violate their oaths to the Constitution and would put others before Americans.”

The group’s ads occasionally appeared to get under Trump’s skin, who called the founders “a group of RINO Republicans who failed badly” and “losers” who are “doing everything possible to get even for all of their many failures.”
