Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) shared she has been temporarily banned from creating a post or comment on Facebook, saying it is “beyond censorship of speech.”

She made the announcement on the conservative social media platform GETTR. She posted a screenshot of Facebook’s notification of the ban.

It points to a post made by Greene, saying, “It’s 2022. After 2020, we crossed into a new time dating method. BC and AC. Before Covid. After Covid. We are moving into the third year of AC.”

Greene responded in her post, “Facebook has joined Twitter in censoring me. This is beyond censorship of speech. I’m an elected Member of Congress representing over 700,000 US tax paying citizens and I represent their voices, values, defend their freedoms, and protect the Constitution.”

She added, “But apparently they too think the CDC managed [VAERS] system on our own government websites are misinformation.”

Greene went on to suggest “there has been ZERO investigation into reported Covid deaths from government mandated [Covid] vaccines.”

Concluding her post, she asked, “Who appointed Twitter and Facebook to be the authorities of information and misinformation?”

She continued, “When Big Tech decides what political speech of elected Members is accepted and what’s not then they are working against our government and against the interest of our people.”

The ban comes one day after Greene’s Twitter account was permanently suspended, as IJR reported.

In her statement responding to the suspension, Greene called Twitter the “enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” adding, “That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies.”

A spokesperson for Twitter said the social media platform has “been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”
