The leader singer of the rock band Aerosmith urged tourists to return to Maui while doing a concert in Philadelphia on Saturday.

At the end of the band’s opening night of its farewell tour, Steven Tyler reminded fans that other Maui resort towns such as Paia and Hana were “still there” even in the aftermath of the Maui wildfires.

“When you think about Lahaina, think about south Maui,” Tyler said. “Paia and Hana, it’s still there. It’s a place to go and do, you know, the love thing. It’s still open, it’s still happening.”

“Everything’s beautiful, except you’re going to come there and make it more beautiful,” Tyler told the fans. “Okay?”

Initially, tourists were asked not to visit Muai in the aftermath of the Lahaina wildfires which have left 388 people unaccounted for and 115 people confirmed dead.

However, tourists are reportedly not only not returning, but they’re also canceling upcoming plans, according to Hawaii News Now.

“We’ve had cancellations on our tourists through the month of December,” Richard Olsten, the operations director for Air Maui told the outlet. “Hundreds cancelling because they don’t even think the island is going to be suitable.”
