Joy Behar Defends Biden Reportedly Forgetting When His Son Died: ‘Why Would He Want to Remember?’

A co-host of ABC’s “The View” is racing to the defense of President Joe Biden amid an accusation he forgot when his son died.

Addressing a damning report about the president’s memory on Friday, co-host Joy Behar asked, “Why would he want to remember the day his son died? Why?”

“You would want to block that out of your head,” she insisted.

Watch the video below:

Behar then defends Biden for confusing Mexico and Egypt: "Okay, so he mixed up the names of a couple of people."
Sunny "enslaver descendant" Hostin admits this is a "significant" problem for Biden.

The segment comes after Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report on his investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents.

Hur declined to recommend charges against the president, even though investigators “uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.”

Still, the report included several damaging sections. One portion labeled Biden a “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

Investigators also believed, “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.

“It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness,” the report added.

Hur’s report also claimed Biden “did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.”

During a press conference Thursday evening, the president insisted he knew when his son died.

“There is even reference that I don’t remember when my son died. How in the hell dare he raise that? When I was asked the question I thought to myself, it wasn’t any of their damn business,” Biden said about that portion of the report.

He added, “I wear since since the day he died — every single day — the rosary he got from Our Lady of…”

He did not name the church, but said, “I don’t need anyone to remind me when he passed away.”

Biden’s team has pushed back on the portion of Hur’s report that focused on the president’s memory, saying, “We do not believe that the report’s treatment of President Biden’s memory is accurate or appropriate. The report uses highly prejudicial language to describe a commonplace occurrence among witnesses: a lack of recall of years-old event.”

During the same press conference on Thursday, Biden mixed up the president of Egypt with the president of Mexico.

Still, Behar dismissed the mix up, saying, “Okay, so he mixed up the names of a couple of people. How big of a problem of this?”

Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, “I think it’s significant actually. To mix up the president of Egypt with the president of Mexico because his name sounds like Sisi — that’s bizarre.”

Meanwhile, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin noted the Mexican president’s name is Andrés Manuel López Obrador while the Eygptian president’s name is Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, she added, “It’s not super close.”
