Former President Donald Trump is mocking late-night host Jimmy Kimmel for reading an attack post on live TV.

During an interview with Fox News, journalist Howard Kurtz asked about Kimmel’s decision to read Trump’s post attacking him at the Oscars.

“Look, Jimmy Kimmel, every night he hits me, I guess, his ratings are terrible. He’s not a talented guy, I hear he hits me all the time. So I figured I’d hit him cause I thought he was a lousy host. I put it out on Truth… I never expected he was going to be reading it,” the former president said.

He went on:

“Now the big story is that they all begged him not to do it. Don’t do it. He probably stupidly… had to act in a short period of time, like minutes, right? He had minutes cause he’s on air. He sees this thing, and he wants to go out there and he wants to, I guess, confront me. And he ends up reading my Truth. I thought, ‘This guy’s even dumber than I thought.’ The thing went viral, it’s been all over the world now. And all he had to do was keep his mouth shut.”

During the Oscars on Sunday night, Kimmel said, “You know, doing this show is not about me. And I appreciate you having me. It’s really about you and, Emma and all these great actors and actresses and filmmakers.”

“But, I was told we have, like, an extra minute. And, I’m really proud of something and I was wondering if I could share it with you. I just got a review, and umm…,” he continued.

Kimmel then read a post on Truth Social from Trump savaging his performance as a host:

“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous.”

Trump went on, “Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them.”

“Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.

Kimmel responded to the post, “See if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social.”

“Thank you President Trump. Thank you for watching. Isn’t it past your jail time?” he joked. “He’s focused on the important stuff for sure.”
