Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is no longer considering NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his running mate.

Rodgers was considered to be on the shortlist of vice presidential candidates for Kennedy, who is running for president as an independent.

Rodgers was the reported to have told two people he believed the Sandy Hook shooting to be a “government inside job,” Yahoo Sportsreported.

Shortly after that report, he said Sandy Hook was “an absolute tragedy.”

However, on Friday, Kennedy posted a video in which he said he picked his VP.

“It’s not any of the people they’ve been talking about,” he said, seemingly referring to Rodgers.

Mediaite reported Saturday that Kennedy plans to announce Nicole Shanahan, a California-based attorney and entrepreneur, as his running mate. The announcement is planned for March 26 in Oakland, California.

“The outlet confirmed Rodgers to be out of the running, with a claim that the prospect of his selection “prompted concerns among donors to the campaign,” Yahoo Sports reported.

Major donors to the presidential campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were not thrilled with Rodgers as a possible running mate, sources told Mediaite.

Kennedy said Rodgers and former Minnesota Jesse Ventura are top contenders for his pick for vice president.
