President Donald Trump started his Wednesday with bold imagery and a new threat against Iran.
Shortly after 4 a.m. EST, Trump went on Truth Social and said Iran “better get smart soon!”
“Iran can’t get their act together. They don’t know how to sign a nonnuclear deal. They better get smart soon!” the president wrote.
Trump also posted an AI-generated image of himself holding an assault rifle in front of a scene of explosions on a hillside.
The post comes as peace talks have slowed. A second round of peace talks was canceled after weeks of conflict and a subsequent ceasefire.
Tensions have remained high since U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran started Feb. 28.
Iran responded with a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route.
The the blockade resulted in oil prices surging, increasing pressure for both sides to reach an agreement.
On Tuesday, Trump claimed on Truth Social that Iran was in a “State of Collapse.”
Trump has stated he is under “no time frame” to strike a deal.
