Oh, you knew this was coming. President Trump, never one to let a punchline go unthrown, is back on Truth Social swinging at late-night TV — and this time he’s practically promising to bring down the house. Literally.

The former president fired off another round at Jimmy Kimmel, hinting that the ABC funnyman might soon follow Stephen Colbert right out the studio door. And just to twist the knife, Trump casually added Jimmy Fallon to his late-night hit list, like he was reading off a grocery order.

This isn’t your typical celebrity dust‑up. This is Trump relishing what he’s calling the collapse of an entire industry that once mocked him nightly. And the timing couldn’t be juicier. CBS has already confirmed Colbert’s “Late Show” is set to wrap up in May 2026. Colbert’s ratings have been sagging, the cultural buzz has been non‑existent, and now Trump is taking a victory lap loud enough for the whole media world to hear.

“The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go,” Trump posted. Read that again. NEXT. To. Go. That’s not a subtle jab, folks. That’s a sledgehammer through the front window of late-night television. And then came the kicker: “Fallon will be gone.” Just like that, Trump was gleefully predicting the end of two more prime-time comedians in one swoop.

You can almost hear the network executives choking on their soy lattes. Trump wasn’t done, either. “These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television,” he wrote. That’s not just a critique. That’s a torch, and he’s swinging it right at Hollywood’s late-night elite.

Colbert, predictably, couldn’t resist firing back. From his soon-to-be-canceled stage, he hurled a not-so-family-friendly insult at Trump, playing the tough guy for the cameras. “Go f*** yourself!” he blurted, followed by an almost comical vow that the gloves are off for the next 10 months. Ten months? That’s the desperate growl of a man counting down to his pink slip, clinging to the idea that he’s suddenly free to “speak unvarnished truth to power.”

If it loses them $40 million a year, no. No, they won’t.

Are you suggesting they should? https://t.co/5T4cRmEXqV

But here’s the part nobody in the blue-check crowd wants to admit out loud: Trump might actually be shaping this. His war with late-night hosts didn’t just make headlines — it shook up the formula. Viewers tuned out. Networks panicked. And now, with Colbert already marked for cancellation, suddenly Kimmel’s name is being whispered, and Fallon’s “Tonight Show” isn’t safe either.

Leftist protesters with “Refuse Fascism” held a protest blaming President Trump for CBS cancelling Stephen Colbert’s failing show. The show had been losing millions every year for many years. The cancellation is being called “fascist” by the protesters. pic.twitter.com/09G0s3Vf6p

Is Trump exaggerating? Is this just his showman flair? Or is he once again reading the ratings tea leaves better than the executives who sign the checks? That’s the tension nobody wants to touch. But if you think this is just about comedy, think again. This is about who controls the cultural microphone, and right now, Trump’s laughter is echoing louder than the punchlines from those dimming studio lights.

“They are showing up on New York acting as if Colbert is their leader.”

Kimmel’s silence is deafening. Fallon’s nervous chuckle feels a little too forced. And Colbert? He’s got ten months to try and roast the man who’s already celebrating his career obituary. Stay tuned — because if late-night is collapsing, you’re going to want front-row seats when the next domino falls.
