Many dignitaries including past presidents are expected to attend former Vice President Dick Cheney’s funeral Thursday.
But two top Republican leaders — President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance — will not be in attendance because they were not invited, CNN reported.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. ET at Washington’s National Cathedral. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the invitation-only service.
Former presidents George W. Bush and Joe Biden will attend, along with former vice presidents Kamala Harris, Mike Pence, Al Gore and Dan Quayle.
Supreme Court Justices, including Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Elena Kagan will also pay their respects as well as past and present Cabinet members from both Republican and Democratic administrations.
Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader John Thune and former leader Mitch McConnell are also expected to attend.
Axios first reported Trump was not invited to the funeral.
The guest list itself harkens back to a time when both Democrats and Republicans could get along even though the differed politically.
Bush, Cheney’s daughter former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and a few of his grandchildren will speak.
Cheney served as vice president under Bush from 2001 to 2009.
He died Nov. 3 at the age of 84.
Cheney also served as defense secretary, White House chief of staff and as a congressman representing Wyoming.
He was considered one of the most influential vice presidents in history.
His role as the architect of the Iraq War made him unpopular when he left office.
