President Donald Trump believes the deaths of Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner are due to “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

The filmmaker and his wife were fatally stabbed in their Los Angeles home Sunday. Their son, Nick Reiner, is currently in custody. A motive has not been revealed.

Trump took to Truth Social Monday morning and reasoned Reiner’s public opposition to him was the real cause of the couple’s deaths.

Trump said the deaths were a byproduct of what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

He said Reiner was consumed by political animus and claimed this fixation led to his death.

“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump wrote. “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

Did Trump correctly attribute the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner to 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'?

The post did not offer sympathy for their family members, but turned inward to air “familiar grievances, praise his own administration, and cast a cultural antagonist as a cautionary tale,” Mediaite reported.

Reiner directed many films, including “When Harry Met Sally” and “A Few Good Men.”

Reiner was one of Trump’s most outspoken critics in Hollywood, which made him a target of Trump’s insults.

Critics noted Trump’s reaction was provocative and blurred the line between commentary and exploitation.
