Thousands of children in southern Lebanon remain displaced six months into the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, with many living in public schools repurposed as shelters as the new school year approaches on September 15. The fighting has killed more than 4,300 people and wounded about 12,000, with over 340,000 displaced at the peak, and nearly 80 public schools still serving as shelters as authorities scramble to reopen classrooms.
