Blue Point One Breaks Ground in LouisianaBusiness — 5dBlue Point One, a CF Industries–JERA–Mitsui venture, began construction in Modeste, Louisiana on a $3.7 billion, 1.4 million metric ton per year low-carbon ammonia plant set to start in 2029 and potentially become the world’s largest. The project uses autothermal reforming with about 98% CO2 capture and sequestration via 1PointFive/Enbridge, with Linde investing in a large on-site air separation unit, and will create ~3,900 construction jobs and 100+ permanent positions, funded by the ownership shares of CF (40%), JERA (35%), Mitsui (25%).
