Almost one million migrants who entered the U.S. using the CBP One app under the Biden administration have been ordered to Self Deport immediately or face a permanent ban.

According to Fox News, the app was used to schedule appointments at official ports of entry before migrants then received parole into the U.S. They were then given a two-year work authorization while waiting to go through court proceedings.

The app was stopped on the first day President Donald Trump took office in January, pausing all applications for parole and allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to cancel respective parole statuses.

A report by CBS cites a Homeland Security message to migrants using the app, telling them that their legal status has been revoked, and they need to leave the U.S.

“If you do not depart the United States immediately you will be subject to potential law enforcement actions that will result in your removal from the United States — unless you have otherwise obtained a lawful basis to remain here,” the message reportedly reads.

app has also now been renamed the CBP Home app and encourages self deportation.

“Again, DHS is terminating your parole. Do not attempt to remain in the United States — the federal government will find you,” the notice says. “Please depart the United States immediately.”

Since the app’s launch in January 2023, more than 936,500 people have been admitted into the U.S., according to DHS data obtained by the New York Post.

“Formal termination notices have been issued, and affected aliens are urged to voluntarily self-deport using the CBP Home App,” a DHS spokesperson said. “Those who refuse will be found, removed, and permanently barred from reentry,”

The Biden administration broadened the application of the CBP One app, enabling migrants to access the U.S. through ports of entry or a distinct parole procedure. This process required them to submit personal details, including a photograph.

The app’s functionality was also expanded to include air travel for migrants. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was authorized to verify migrants lacking sufficient identification by matching their photographs with DHS records and utilizing biometric technology. Verified individuals underwent additional physical screenings as part of the process.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem banned the use of the app for migrants to board flights unless they were using those flights to Self Deport.
