A 60-year-old woman based in Oakley, California, threw herself a Disney princess-themed quinceañera and fulfilled a teenage dream.
In an interview with “Good Morning America” Livier Reynoso revealed she grew up poor and didn’t have the opportunity to celebrate the tradition growing up as a 15-year-old girl in Mexico.
As an adult, she was uncertain if she would reach her 60th birthday after doctors told her that her diabetes was detrimental to her health. So, she wanted to thank God for prolonging her life.
On Sept. 10, Reynoso along with her family and friends came for the special occasion at a Mass at her home church, St. Anthony Catholic Church. Each person dressed as Disney princesses and princes, and then partied at a local family ranch. Reynoso wore a Tiana-themed dress from the movie “The Princess and the Frog.”
“For me, it was something grand to see my whole family reunited and happy and to see my friends. It was something bigger than I ever could have imagined,” Reynoso said to “Good Morning America” in Spanish. “It was just like the parties I used to see when I was that age … Everything was incredible. Everything was just how I dreamed it would be.”
Additionally, she said it was “everything was just how I dreamed it would be.”
