Leftists are calling for veterans of āthe George Floyd revoltā to join upcoming āNo Kingsā rallies against President Donald Trump on Saturday.
CrimethInc, an international anarchist group, encouraged supporters on Thursday to engage in āanti-authoritarianā uprisings similar to the 2020 Black Lives Matter riotsĀ when the nationwide anti-Trump rallies take place. The post recommended ādirect action planning,ā a phrase CrimethInc defines as mobilizing people to cause a public disruption even if it risks arrest.
āTo face down Donald Trumpās power grab and his terror campaign targeting āantifa,ā we need everyone, of all walks of life, to proclaim that opposition to fascism is both laudable and urgent,ā CrimethIncās anonymously-written post said. āWe must contribute to a ferment that brings together everyone from the fiercest participants in the George Floyd revolt to the retirees that protested at Tesla outlets last spring.ā
CrimethInc and No Kings did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundationās requests for comment. CrimethIncās website lists mailing addresses in Olympia, Washington, and the United Kingdom.
The group linked to another of its posts from June 2020 titled āSnapshots from the Uprising,ā which glorified violent Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Minneapolis and showed a local police station on fire. The anti-police riots led to 24 deaths and at least $1 billion in property damage across the country.
No Kings stresses its ācommitment to nonviolent actionā on its website. āWe expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events,ā the site says.
Radical leftists often use anonymous blogs like CrimethIncās to publicly promote illegal activity, announce upcoming events or strategize politically against their ideological enemies. The Trump administration called out a similar Antifa-aligned site for its messaging on Thursday after it encouraged Portland, Oregon, protesters to illegally shine lasers at federal aircraft, which can impair pilotsā vision and cause crashes.
āHowever frightening it is to take this step, the consequences of not trying will be more frightening,ā CrimethInc said about the No Kings rallies. āRemember, if you can read these words, there are others putting themselves out there at least as much as you are. That means you are not alone, and the struggle is not hopeless.ā
The post also encourages protesters to coordinate with people they ātrustā via the encrypted messaging app Signal.
