Actress Anne Hathaway was blasted after comparing Abortion to “mercy.”
During an appearance on “The View,” Hathaway shared her own “personal experience with Abortion.”
She explained, “I don’t think we talk about this enough, Abortion can be another word for mercy.”
Hathaway continued, “We don’t know. We don’t know. We know that no two pregnancies are alike, and it follows that no two lives are alike, it follows that no two conceptions are alike. So how can we have a law, how can we have a point of view on this that says we must treat everything the same?”

Pro-life advocate Abby Johnson reacted to Hathaway’s comments, tweeting, “Anne Hathaway said today that Abortion is ‘another word for mercy.’ No, dismembering the body parts of a child is not merciful. Celebrities should shut up with their nonsense.”
Fox News co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy wrote, “80% of babies diagnosed w/ Down Syndrome are aborted. In Iceland 100% are exterminated. Is this ‘mercy’ or profiling (of the deadliest kind)? Valentina’s not a defect. She’s a human being as worthy of life and love as you are .”
Another user called Hathaway a “nasty woman.”

On Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that Democrats in five key gubernatorial races are spending heavily on advertisements around Abortion ahead of the midterms.
However, an ABC News/Washington Post poll released last month found Abortion is not the most “top-of-mind issue” for most voters on both sides of the aisle.
The poll showed the economy was the top issue for voters, with 84% calling it “highly important.”
The economy was followed by education and schools, with 77% saying it is “highly important,” inflation, at 76%, and crime, with 69% saying the same.
Abortion was fifth on the list.
