Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy suggested during a Monday interview that he is currently weighing entering into Politics.
Portnoy, also known as âEl Presidente,â claimed during an appearance on Fox Newsâ âJesse Watters Primetimeâ that he would âlove to run againstâ Democratic New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
âI would love to run against him ,â Portnoy said. âIf I were gonna run, it would be here.â
Mamdaniâs office did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundationâs request for comment.
âWe need leaders to step up,â Portnoy told Waters. âDepending on what day you catch on me in Nantucket, when I roll out of bed, I have a nice ocean view, and itâs like, âWhy do I want to ruin my life and get involved in this mess,â because I know what comes with it? But sometimes, I do feel like itâs my duty. I canât turn away. I feel like I could make a change.â
âIâve had a real job, Iâve done real things, unlike these clown politicians who have never had a job,â Portnoy added.
Portnoy has previously publicly criticized Mamdani, blasting him as a âprofessional actorâ in a June 18 X post.
âI donât get why people are impressed by a guy who is good at reading other peopleâs speeches,â Portnoy wrote in the social media post. âHeâs a professional actor. People slobbering all over Mandami. I get that politicians always try to make sports about them and use it to their advantage so I guess you canât blame Mandami for hogging the spotlight. But dude couldnât name 1 player besides Brunson when asked during a debate last year. Now heâs a super fan? I think it speaks to how inauthentic he is and how dumb people are who slurp it up.â
Portnoy is also known for âOne Bite Pizza Reviews,â a video series where he travels the U.S. and reviews pizzas at different restaurants.
