Beach Boys member Mike Love expressed his hesitation over performing one of their songs due to the “gender-specific” lyrics.
In a viral clip from a recent concert posted to Twitter, Love, 82, stated he was “a little concerned” about performing the band’s hit song “Surfer Girl” because of the lyrics.
“I hope there’s nobody from Budweiser here…or the FBI,” he added.
Before dedicating the tune to “all the ladies,” Love joked, “Sorry, I apologize in advance for anything I might say or do…it’s a family tradition, you know what I’m saying?”
This came after Anheuser-Busch, the parent company for Budweiser and Bud light, received backlash for partnering with transgender influencer Dylan mulvaney.
