Co-host of the daytime talk show “The View,” Joy Behar thinks it is time for Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to consider a career change.

Over the weekend, attendees of one of President Donald Trump’s rallies began to chant “fire Fauci.”

Behar addressed the chant on Monday, “First off, these people chant more than a swami I used to date. I’ve never seen so much chanting going on.”

“Here’s the thing with Fauci and the tone-deafness and stupidity of Trump. Number one, I was a civil servant, OK. You can’t fire a civil servant so easily. It’s impossible,” she continued.

Finally, she said, “But I would say he would be doing Fauci a favor if he could fire him. Fauci needs to quit. Get off of Trump’s bandwagon all together and go on television and become the media darling at CNN, MSNBC, and I bet they’ll put you on at Fox.”

After the crowd shouted “Fire Fauci” on Sunday, Trump responded, “Don’t tell anybody, but let me wait until a little bit after the election. I appreciate the advice.”

The chant came shortly after Fauci told The Washington Post that the country is “in for a whole lot of hurt” in terms of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“All the stars are aligned in the wrong place as you go into the fall and winter season, with people congregating at home indoors,” he explained.

Fauci’s comments come as the country has new records for the number of coronavirus cases added every day. On Sunday, the country added 74,236 new cases.

And health experts warn that as Americans begin to congregate more in-doors as the weather gets colder, the spread of the virus will accelerate.
