Bette Midler Slammed for Sharing Parody Website of GOP Gubernatorial Candidate

Actress 🎬Bette midler shared a parody website for Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Twitter users were quick to call her out.

On Wednesday, Midler shared a screenshot from the fake website.

“Heeere’s , running for Gov of , spewer of Q-anon conspiracies and all around nasty nut job! Don’t let the cute package fool you! She’s lethal!” Midler tweeted.

The screenshot was from an “about me” page, saying, “I embrace far-right nationalism and the forceful suppression of any opposition.”

It continues, “I strongly oppose Marxism, liberalism and democracy, and believe the state takes precedence over individual interests. I favor centralized rule, often a single party or leader, and embrace the idea of a national rebirth, a new greatness for my country.”

Twitter users pointed out the website was in no way a part of Lake’s campaign.

“Her actual website is http://karilake.com. There is a disclaimer on the bottom of the website in Midler’s tweet: ‘This Website Is Parody and Proudly Created By Toby Morton,'” one user tweeted.

Another tweeted, “Bette and her dumb as dog poop followers don’t realise this is fake. Have you noticed the most unhinged attacks against are from bitter, far Left women.”

Additional context was posted to the tweet.

“This is a screenshot from https://www.karilake2022.com/, a site that is completely unaffiliated with Kari Lake or her campaign – it is run by a domain squatter to mislead people,” the note read.
